I was brought on to redesign the official website for American musician Michale Graves in 2021. It was already built in WordPress and hosted on a foreign server. I migrated the existing site and domain to my own hosting service, then began the process. I designed my initial mockups with Adobe XD and built the new website in a staging area with WordPress and Elementor Pro. We also needed a shopping cart, so I created a custom WooCommerce setup as well. Once everything was ready, I built a countdown landing page and launched the site at a strategic date and time that coincided with Michale’s live podcast, The Michale Graves Show.
The site’s overall design has gone through a few different iterations since the original launch. This is an ongoing project, and I currently manage all site content and backend WordPress maintenance.
CHALLENGE: The big challenge for this website was to create a proper discography for all of Michale’s albums. We could have just created a simple image gallery and called it a day, but we wanted more. We wanted to display track listings, release date, and descriptions, as well as various links where fans could purchase.
SOLUTION: To create the discography we needed, I used JetEngine to create a new custom post type. With this I was able to build a listing page with all of his albums, and when an album is clicked it opens a modal window with all of the album details.
